Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Monoid ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Monoid is a privacy-first web analytics platform that allows you to track page traffic and custom events on websites you own or control. The Service provides a JavaScript tracker, a no-JavaScript pixel, a collection API, custom event tracking, account and site management, billing tools, and dashboards for viewing aggregated statistics.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use this Service.

4. Permitted Use

You may use Monoid only on websites you own or have explicit permission to instrument. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to track websites you do not own or control without permission.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the collection API.
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without written agreement.
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to circumvent plan limits through automated or deceptive means.

5. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

6. Payment and Plans

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices may be shown in USD or BRL and are subject to change with 30 days' notice for future billing periods. Upgrades take effect immediately and may be prorated by Stripe. Downgrading to Free from the Monoid plan page cancels the active Stripe subscription and applies the Free plan immediately. We offer a 14-day refund policy on any charge — contact us at monoid@monoid.website.

7. Data and Privacy

Monoid is designed to avoid storing raw IP addresses, full User-Agent strings, cookies, or persistent visitor profiles from your site's visitors. The data we process on your behalf is described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your analytics data. We will not sell your analytics data or use it for advertising, and we disclose it only to subprocessors needed to provide the Service.

Because Monoid acts as a data processor when collecting analytics on your behalf, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) compliant with GDPR Art. 28 governs this relationship. By using Monoid you accept the terms of the DPA available at /dpa.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any loss resulting from temporary unavailability of the Service. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or meet your requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monoid's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. Account deletion removes your user record, sites, dashboard preferences, OAuth links, pending signups, and associated pageview rows from the active database, and attempts to cancel any active Stripe subscription.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your registered address at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, except where mandatory consumer or data protection laws give you rights that cannot be waived. Any disputes shall be subject to the courts of São Paulo, Brazil, unless applicable law requires a different venue.
